Kampa Museum

The Kampa Museum's collection was founded by and consists almost entirely of the works collected by Meda and Jan Mladek. Meda Mladek was born in Czechoslovakia but spent most of her life in Geneva and Paris, where she began to acquire the works of Czech painters living in exile, as well as the works of other Central European artists on her trips through Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Yugoslavia in the 1960s. The Kampa Museum was established in 2002, and the permanent collection represents these works, as well as a remarkable collection of late 20th-century art donated to the foundation by Jiri and Bela Kolar. Admission to the permanent exhibition of the museum is free on Mondays.

Unfortunately we haven`t free Monday entrance...

simply unbelievable. the museum was one of the finest i've ever set foot in. the warhol exhibit was enthralling, as i've been a fan of his work for decades. and, the woman who ran the gift shop was just amazing. the sweetest person i think i've met in a long time (i only wish i could remember her name!)
