Banditos email

Banditos website

Time was that it was damn near impossible to find decent Mexican food anywhere East of the Atlantic Ocean, but that's all changed these days as places like Banditos pop up in every city all over Europe. We're not complaining - we love Mexican food and that which is served at Banditos is very good indeed - just don't expect anything other than your standard fodder. Don't expect a smile from your waiter/waitress either, as from our experience it's not going to happen this lifetime!

Banditos

I visited Prague with 6 of my friends back in late 2007 and this place was a staple of ours. Really cheap, great portions and strong cocktails. But the best thing were the staff. There was an English guy and a dutch guy who were hilarious. They really entertained us all week and kept us coming back for happy hour after happy hour. I was back in Prague with work last month and it seems a lot has changed.

The food is much the same, but way less value for money. Also the staff have changed. It was much less fun and really quite quiet by comparison with 2007.

I stayed for happy hour (rude not to) and then left a bit disappointed. What happened to the staff and the crowd that used to hang out here?

I have been to Banditos several times for happy hour. My friends and I are loyal fans. 10Kc wings, 50Kc nachos, 25Kc beers, 30Kc tacos, etc. Happy hour is the time to go because those prices are amazing and the portions are more than appropriate for the money. The food is good quality and always made fresh. You can't count on AMAZING Mexican food in central Europe, but this is definitely the best Mexican I've had in Prague. I live here and have been to every Mexican restaurant in this city and Banditos is certainly the best food at the best price. The service is not always so friendly, it's best to eat here in smaller groups.

We're in the middle of freakin Europe! Of course it's not gonna be "authentic" but it is what it is: A reliable tex-mex joint with decent food. Good happy hour (Kc 50 nachos and ribs until 6:30!) and good service. (Which is rare in Prague) Overall good atmosphere, decent food, and good service.

WHAT A FIND!! AFTER A VERY LONG DRIVE FROM A VERY SAD DAY AT AUSCHWITZ WE WERE LOOKING FOR A RESTAURANT IN WHICH TO RELAX AND EAT. NO OTHER RESTAURANTS WERE WILLING TO SERVE US AT THE LATE HOUR BUT BANDITOS HAPPENED TO BE ACROSS FROM OUR HOTEL SO WE DECIDED TO TAKE A CHANCE. WE WALKED IN AND WERE WARMLY GREETED AND SEATED! A VERY PERSONABLE YOUNG MAN NAMED, ROB, WAS TALKING TO OUR SERVER AND WE NOTICED HE SPOKE EXCELLENT ENGLISH. WE ASKED WHERE HE WAS FROM AND HE SAID, "OMAHA, NEBRASKA" WHICH PROMPTED A LAUGH FROM OUR GROUP BECAUSE WE WERE FROM DES MOINES, IOWA. WE TALKED FOR AWHILE AND HE GOT US DRINKS AND TREATED US LIKE WE WERE VIPS! THANK YOU ROB FOR THE ROYAL TREATMENT AND THANK YOU BANDITOS FOR THE WONDERFUL FOOD AND THE WARM WELCOME AND QUITE POSSIBLY THE BEST GIN AND TONIC EVER!! WE ARE SENDING A DRAKE UNIVERSITY BANNER, SO ROB, YOU PROMISED TO PUT IT UP! WE ARE HOLDING YOU TO IT. I'M SURE WE'LL BE BACK! THE GANG FROM DES MOINES

WE LOVE BANDITOS!!!! The food is good, but more importantly the atmosphere is great. The people who work there are amazing, friendly, fun cool people. We went 3 times in 4 days!

Silvester in Banditos. One of my most funny evenings the last years! Oh hell, what a drunk!

More Tex-Mex than really Mexican, but with all sorts of dishes. The place itself is small enough to be intimate and cozy, and looks pretty authentic. Banditos is definitely worth a try!

The food was decent but not "real" Mexican (they didn't even have queso!), and the margaritas were more water than lime, but overall the atmosphere was great and the food was the best that can be expected this far from Mexico.

Banditos was a fantastic place. The food and drink were great. The service was above par. I stayed across the street and went to banditos regularly as did the group of 100 I was with. 1/2 of us got stuck across the street for about 6 hours and Banditos took care of us. Fresh food, good times, and great drink> try the Absinth!!!

I've tasted better Mexicans but this was still a great place. Nice service and decent burritos... all the better when washed down with a Czech beer!

Pretty bog standard to be honest, but the portions were really big.
