Figures just released have shown a large increase in the numbers of foreign workers moving to the Czech Republic, and particularly Prague. This inxflux of foreigners, mostly from neighbouring EU states such as Slovenia and Poland, has been so pronounced that it even had an influence on the population count, raising it by a small amount of previous years. According to the Labour and Social Affairs ministry just under 100,000 foreign workers moved to the Czech Republic last year with the vast majority destined for Prague. Officials have welcomed the news as a sign of Prague's increasing appeal to foreign companies and investors, and state that such movement of labour will benefit local companies too.
