Pink Tank Returns to Prague
The famous Pink Tank, created by acclaimed Czech artist David Cerny in 1991, has returned to its native Prague where it has been placed on a pontoon on the Vltava River.
Cerny's tank acted as a war memorial in the city, and was seen as a act of rebellion against the Monument to Soviet Tank Crews, which was still considered a national cultural monument in 1991.
The tank has returned from the Military Technical Museum in Lesany, central Bohemia. It will be on display in Prague on the Vltava (Moldau) River between Charles Bridge and the Legions Bridge as part of the Week of Freedom commemorating the departure of Soviet forces from the region.
