Prague Artist Wows in London

Well-known Prague artist David Cerny, who is known for his many sculptures and installations including as a tank painted pink, has unveiled his latest work to be on display in London during the Olympics.

The London Booster is a traditional red London double decker bus with huge red arms attached. The bus has been fitted with suspension and mechanical devices to make it appear to be doing push-ups, complete with projections inside and grunting sound effects. Cerny said he choice this movement because, “there is one common exercise for every sportsman in the world, and that is push-ups... it is training for sport activities but at the same time it is also punishment in armies and prisons.”

The London Booster is located outside the Czech Olympic House in the Islington neighbourhood in north London.
